For Schools - For Students: Overnight Program

The Mountain Workshop has a variety of overnight locations to choose from. We will design programs of appropriate length and activities to meet your school's goals. For certain groups, tent camping and outdoor cooking provides the perfect experience. Others seek the comfort of heated cabins, hot showers and full food service. Still others desire the challenge and adventure of a multi-day journey, traveling under their own power by foot or canoe!

Wherever your group falls on the adventure spectrum, we encourage you to call us and discuss the differences of each location in order to design the most appropriate program to meet your objectives. Accommodations range from rustic tents or stone lean-tos, to comfortable 8-person cabins. We will offer the right facility and programming to accommodate the age and abilities of your students.

Expectation for overnights: Our staff is with the group throughout the program day. However, during non-program time chaperones are responsible for student supervision. Students will be actively involved in meal preparation and share the responsibility of cabin, common room and bathroom clean up prior to departure. Students are expected to follow all rules of the specific camp and safety guidelines explained by the Mountain Workshop staff.

Evening programs: After dinner, the evening program period is generally from 7:30-9:30 P.M. This may include an informational/planning meeting, processing the days experiences through a group de-brief, camp fires and various fun and challenging activities facilitated by the Mountain Workshop staff.
