For Schools - For Students
Team Building
Program Description
Empathy • Trust • Communication • Group Process • Collaboration • Teamwork
Who Benefits?
Students' need to work in teams increases significantly as they progress through middle school and high school. Colleges and universities today structure their course work to encourage team participation and success in the professional world depends on individuals who are team players. For most team playing is not a natural skill, but rather is learned from others including mentors, teachers, coaches and other role models. School groups benefit from programs designed to teach and encourage teamwork in the context of the school environment and culture.
Our Approach
While teamwork is a bi-product of almost every activity in the Mountain Workshop curriculum, our Team Building Series is focused on it! Each program is designed to promote collaboration and challenge disparate groups to become highly effective teams. Our experienced leaders not only facilitate the process but debrief each activity to ensure that key learning is related back to the students' academic lives. Faculty and staff members are encouraged to participate as it helps build trust and creates a strong teacher-student bond.
