For Schools - For Students
Facilitated Workshops
Program Description
Participants will spend the day navigating throughout over 500 acres of upland forest and grasslands in search of scattered way points using a compass and topographical map.
The day will start with a series of ice Breakers to get the group settled and engaged. Following the opening activities the large group will be divided into individual teams of 8 to 10 participants who will work together throughout the day. Each team will be given a thorough instruction on using a map and compass to navigate. A Mountain Workshop leader will take each team to their first way point using the techniques just taught.
From the first point the team is on their own and must find the remaining points. Successful teams will develop an approach and assign individual members specific responsibilities. This program encourages clear communication, leadership and team work!d
