For Schools - For Students
Welcome to the Mountain Workshop! 2010 marks our 30th year of delivering experiential and outdoor education programs to school groups. Over these 30 years we have taken tens of thousands of students and faculty members outside to learn from experience, broaden their horizons and expand their comfort zones.
Program Development Process
Our programs are designed to compliment and extend our school partners' curricula outside of their school buildings. By using the outdoors as its classroom, The Mountain Workshop transcends the boundaries of the traditional learning environment. Our programs challenge students to push their physical, emotional and intellectual limits and open themselves to new experiences. First we provide the environment to learn skills necessary for success, then immediately immerse the students in the act of applying them.
Program objectives Include:
- Leadership Skills Development
- Character Strengthening
- Team Building
- Building School Spirit
- Clique Busting/Anti-Bullying
Each activity and program day is followed by a group debrief to ensure that key learnings and experiences are related to the lives of the participants both inside and outside of school.
Currently we design programs for schools in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York State and Pennsylvania and New York State. We offer both local and travel program with destinations throughout the United States and Canada.
We hope you will join us outside soon!
